Don’t try to win your first run. Wanderburg is one loop — consume, grow, upgrade, survive. You drive a castle on wheels, eat villages, sheep and smaller fortresses to grow, mount cannons, wizard towers and explosive mines to clear enemies, and the castle grows again after each boss. Your first-run goal is to survive and get comfortable with that loop, and note which modules feel good. Early priorities
The developers call it “Survival of the Biggest”: you grow bigger, but the threats do too. So eat small, reliably killable targets first — don’t charge a large fortress or an early boss. The castle grows from two officially confirmed sources: consuming targets, and growing after defeating a boss.

- Treat the dash as an emergency tool, not travel. Reviews consistently describe it as the escape hatch for dodging artillery or breaking out of a bad orbit. Waste it crossing the map and you’ll be helpless when the swarm arrives.
- Clear the outer villages before the strongholds. Detailed hands-on reports found peripheral targets are the more efficient route once repair costs are counted — which also matches the official consume-to-grow logic.
- Don’t upgrade everything. Focus upgrades on a reliable clearing output; spreading thin dilutes your build. There is no official build guide, and community “best weapon” claims are just player testing.
