Wanderburg Modules Unlock Guide: How Modules Enter Your Pool
Wanderburg modules unlock: the four ways modules enter your pool, the modules named in official patch notes, and the reroll rule tied to unlocks.

Modules are not all handed to you at once. A few come from the start. The rest are bought with Silver between runs, unlocked by pushing a module to Lv5 or Lv10, or earned through cumulative goals.
The good news: official patch notes do name specific modules, and they confirm how rerolls work. So both “which modules can get stronger” and “why unlocking matters” are now documented.
One thing to get straight first: the four unlock paths come from player write-ups. The developer has never published unlock conditions. What is official is the module names and the reroll rule.
Modules the patch notes actually name
Every module below appears in official notes from 8-12 September 2026, and the change listed is the developer’s own wording.
| Module | What the official notes changed | Version |
|---|---|---|
| Front Barrack(s) Module | Active base damage 200 → 250; fixed diminishing-damage upgrades; buffed active ability | 0.9.7 / 0.9.9 |
| Top Electric Mage Module | More passive damage per upgrade; longer stun; no longer stuns allies | 0.9.7 / 0.9.10 |
| Top Mortar | Fewer active-ability projectiles | 0.9.6 |
| Back Turret Module | Nerfed once, then lower maximum attack-speed boost | 0.9.6 / 0.9.10 |
| Side Arm Module | Higher rarity-based damage for active and auto attacks | 0.9.10 |
| Side Ballista Module | Auto attack nerfed, active ability buffed | 0.9.9 |
| Wizard Crew | Auto attacks slow targets for 3 seconds | 0.9.9 |
| Force Mage | Active ability cancels incoming projectiles | 0.9.9 |
| Fire Mage | Firestorm damage increased | 0.9.6 |
| Module Ram | Fixed inconsistent damage; Tier 3 visuals and behavior improved | 0.9.6 / 0.9.8 |
The notes also mention fixing “diminishing-damage upgrades” — upgrades that give less the more you take them. That tells you modules have levels and upgrade modifiers rather than being fixed weapons.
Where modules come from: four paths
| Path | How you get it | Watch out |
|---|---|---|
| Starting pool | Available on your first run | Player write-ups count 4 base modules |
| Silver purchase | Buy it in the between-run shop | Bought modules then join the level-up draft |
| Upgrade unlock | Level a given module to Lv5 or Lv10 inside a run | You have to chase one module, not spread picks |
| Challenge unlock | Cumulative kills of walking enemies, or cumulative cow consumption | Counts across runs, not inside one run |
Player write-ups also list two specific gates: Teleporter needs Dash at level 10 plus 600 Silver, and Catapult needs 300 cows eaten across runs.
None of those numbers have an official source. Treat them as direction, not rules.
Why unlocking more makes you stronger
The 0.9.10 notes say it plainly: every 6 unlocked modules grants +1 New Module Reroll, and every 6 unlocked Artifacts grants +1 Artifact Reroll.
A reroll is a chance to swap out an option you do not want in the level-up draft. The bigger the pool, the more reliably a build comes together.
So do not force the same module every run. Widen the pool first — the rerolls follow.
How to confirm a module is unlocked
- Finish a run and open the between-run shop.
- Find a module you leveled in that run and check whether it shows up as purchasable.
- Start another run and see whether it appears in the level-up draft.
Both have to be true. Appearing in the shop is not enough — some modules have to be bought before they can be drafted.
When to come back to this page
Modules are the most frequently touched part of the game right now. Between 8 and 12 September, Front Barrack, Top Electric Mage, Back Turret, Side Arm and Side Ballista were all changed.
To check a module’s current state, read the Balancing section of the Steam announcement feed. This page reflects the official wording as of 2026-09-18.
